Miriam Luke has been elected a Steward of the Regatta. Miriam was educated at St Mary’s Hall, Dauntsey’s School and Southampton University where she studied Biochemistry and Physiology. Miriam has worked at both the British Olympic Association and London 2012 where she managed the Olympic Rowing and Canoeing Village. She is currently working with GetFeedback as a consultant, leading their behaviour and cultural change work.

Miriam first represented Great Britain in 1990 and went on to finish an uninterrupted international career culminating with an Olympic Silver Medal in the women’s quad sculls in 2000 in Sydney. Alongside Katherine Grainger, Gillian Lindsay and her sister, Guin Batten, they became the first British women’s crew to medal at an Olympic Games.

On 3 June 2012, Miriam was amongst the rowers on the Queen’s barge Gloriana, which led the flotilla of craft through London for the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant.

Miriam is a Vice–President of Thames Rowing Club and was appointed Chairman of the Henley Women’s Regatta in 2012. Miriam is married to David Luke (former GB rower) and has two children.
